Mike Myers Mourns Death of Austin Powers Costar Verne Troyer: 'I Hope He Is in a Better Place'



Mike Myers is recalling his Mini-Me. 



Following the news of Verne Troyer's demise, the performer, 54, paid tribute to his Austin Powers costar. 

"Verne was the quintessential expert and a guide of energy for those of us who had the pleasure of working with him. It is a dismal day, however I trust he is in a superior place. He will be extraordinarily missed," Myers said in an announcement got by Entertainment Weekly on Saturday. 

Troyer's huge acting break came in 1999 with the part of Mini-Me in Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me, for which he depicted a getting out of hand form of Myers' character Dr. Detestable. Troyer likewise repeated his part in the 2002 continuation, Austin Powers in Goldmember.

No reason for death was uncovered. 



On April 2, Troyer, who was conceived with achondroplasia dwarfism which made him quit developing at 2'8″, was raced to the clinic for an "announced harming." The Los Angeles City Fire Department affirmed to PEOPLE that they were called to the performing artist's North Hollywood home. Law authorization sources revealed to TMZ that Troyer was "amazingly vexed, alcoholic and self-destructive." 

In Saturday's announcement, Troyer's family stated: "Amid this current time of difficulty he was sanctified through water while encompassed by his family. The family acknowledges that they have this opportunity to lament secretly. Sadness and Suicide are intense issues. You never recognize what sort of fight somebody is experiencing inside. In lieu of blooms, the family requested gifts to be made to two philanthropies, The Starkey Hearing Foundation and Best Buddies, in Troyer's name.
